With built-in wireless connectivity, the QUANTUM® EQ can be easily monitored and adjusted using your iOS or Android smartphone, giving you full control of skimmer performance anytime, anywhere. The QUANTUM® EQ integrates seamlessly with the Mobius™ ecosystem and can be controlled through the Mobius™ app, sharing the same intuitive interface used for Ecotech Marine® and AquaIllumination® pumps and LED lighting. For advanced system integration, the skimmer can also be added to the Apex Fusion app via Neptune Systems® using the MXM Mobius™ Wireless Control Module. Both apps are available on the App Store and Google Play. To simplify daily operation, the QUANTUM® EQ includes preset performance templates in Mobius™. Performance Mode sets the skimmer pump to 70%, allowing fine manual adjustment. Plankton Saving Mode automatically reduces skimmer performance at night to help preserve naturally occurring plankton, which is most active after dark. Nutrient Export Reduction Mode permanently lowers skimmer output when nutrient levels in the aquarium are too low, helping maintain system balance. The Nyos Quantum 220 EQ Protein Skimmer can also be integrated into custom Mobius™ scenes. This allows the skimmer to automatically reduce pump speed during activities such as feeding or water changes and then return to its preset performance level once the task is complete. Advanced safety features protect both livestock and equipment. If a snail shell or obstruction blocks the intake, the pump shuts down automatically, allowing the obstruction to be flushed out. If the pump cannot restart, it switches off completely, the integrated RGB LED flashes red, and a notification is sent directly to the app. An integrated RGB LED inside the skimmer displays pump speed using a color-coded system and can also function as a built-in flashlight for maintenance work inside the cabinet (patent pending). Pump speed is steplessly adjustable from 1 to 100%, with the ability to schedule different performance levels throughout the day directly in the app. The Nyos Quantum 220 EQ Protein Skimmer is powered by energy-efficient 24-volt low-voltage pumps manufactured in Europe. Thanks to intelligent electronic control, the system consumes up to 20% less power while delivering up to 10% more performance compared to the non-controllable QUANTUM® models.
