Aqua One Aquis 1250 series 2 external filter from aqua one that’s reliable, fairly priced and well made. So, if you want a no frills external aquarium filter for tanks up to 600 litres look no more. The filter does have a primer so there’s some frill, but where it differs is the pipe connections. Whilst the connections work perfectly, the filter lacks the complicated valve block that’s becoming pretty standard on externals. Do not however let this put you off, whilst the lack of the valve block saves money and that’s good. It also does not detract in any way from the filters function. With the simple taps there’s actually less to go wrong. A weak point in many modern filters is the valve block, there’s a lot to go wrong with them. Nearly always when a modern filter leaks it will be the valve block. Aqua One Aquis 1250 Series 2 Features Well by today’s standards it’s a fairly basic design but, the way in which the filter actually filters is no different than most other filters. The Aqua One Aquis 1250 has snug fitting media baskets it flows bottom upwards. It’s basically a cheaper but just as able filter as many more expensive counterparts. With a low energy usage of only 28w it stands its ground when you consider the output of 1400 lph. It does have a primer that works well that’s also smooth in operation. Just connect the supplied pipe work and press the primer and its away. The Aqua One Aquis 1250 lends itself with ease to those that wish to fiddle and tweak with the media set up. Although for those that just want to plug and play its supplied ready to go. Quick summary Professional quality filtration including superior biological filter media. Benefits of an External Canister Filter Compared to an Internal Filter: Superior Filtration Capacity: External filters like the Aquis 1250 Pro have a larger volume to accommodate more filter media, providing better mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration compared to internal filters. Customizability: With a modular design, external filters allow for the customization of filter media to suit the specific needs of your aquarium, whether it’s freshwater, marine, or planted. Space Saving: Installed outside the tank, external filters free up valuable space within the aquarium, giving fish and plants more room to thrive. Better Aesthetic Appeal: By being placed externally, the filter eliminates bulky equipment inside the tank, enhancing the visual appeal of your aquarium. Higher Flow Rates: External canister filters typically provide stronger water flow, ensuring efficient circulation and even distribution of filtered water. Reduced Maintenance Hassle: Quick-release hoses and external placement make cleaning and media replacement easier and less disruptive to your aquatic environment. Quieter Operation: External filters are designed to operate quietly, with the motor often placed in a sound-insulated compartment, reducing noise compared to many internal filters. The Aqua One Aquis 1250 Pro Canister Filter is a powerhouse of efficiency, convenience, and reliability, making it a must-have for anyone looking to create and maintain a pristine aquatic environment. Whether you’re starting a new aquarium or upgrading your existing setup, the Aquis 1250 Pro offers unmatched performance and ease of use.
