The D&D RO Booster Pump is suitable for any brand of R.O Unit. This pump will significantly increase the volume and quality of your R.O units’ product water. The booster pump increases the pressure on the water inside the unit, allowing the membrane to work more efficiently. As a result, there is a lower TDS concentration in the R.O product water. R.O units, or Reverse Osmosis units, are machines that implement a highly effective filtration method. They remove chlorine and other contaminants from drinking water. This means that tap water is turned to as close to pure water as possible. This is achieved by running pressurised water through a series of filters and semipermeable membranes. R.O water allows sensitive organisms to be kept healthy. Aquarists know exactly what is being added to the tank when they do a water change. This means that if problems arise appropriate solutions can be found quicker. Generally, RO units will produce on average about 50% of their stated membrane capacity. This is a result of the temperature and pressure of UK mains water being lower than the standard parameters used for membrane flow specification. Often boosting the pressure with one of these units will give you the full stated membrane volume all year round.
