Plants provide vital oxygen for the fish and inverts in an aquarium as they grow but they need Co2 to do so. The JBL ProFlora Co2 systems are quite simple and therefore quick and easy to install. Simply attach the regulator onto the CO2 cylinder and the connect the regulator to the reactor with the supplied pipe. CO2 enters the reactor where it dissolved into the water making available for the plants. At Night plants are not able to photosynthesise so no Co2 is necessary and the supply is interrupted via the solenoid valve connected to a suitable timer. Caution plants use oxygen at night and can drastically lower it’s concentration which will put your fish at risk. Therefore we recommend an air pump to be used during the hours of darkness.
